Marc became more famous in the Trackmania community because of emotes.

The first emote that was popular in his opinion was marcCHEER, back in the day people still used BetterTTV. There were streamers adding marcCHEER to their channel.

The winke emote by ubm (a chattah) was THE emote( mostly on 7TV) that went viral in the whole Trackmania community and is used to greet people. The emote was not created by Marc himself. "winke" comes from "winken" which means to wave. So ubm probably intended this to be a greeting emote.

In the actual clip though (which is unknown) Marc was probably mad at a chattah and dismissed them out of the chat. Some people also see winke as a "get out of the chat/way" "you are dismissed" "you are wrong" "later" kinda thing.

winke also got added to channels (7TV) that are not related to Trackmania which means they don't even know who Marc is. The emote is used mostly on 7tv which is an emote extension for your browser.

Marc has many other emotes made by chattahs that got added to many Trackmania steamer channels. People tried to keep ubm`s style of using german words like the emote "aufpassen" for example.
